Good News:
The NSA is brining 1500 more jobs here, and Toyota is opening a huge new facility that is going to employ somewhere in the neighborhood of 7,000 people. All right, growth, this town could use it. Too bad the PGA Village was killed, oh well.
Bad News:
The city has decided that $6 million to bring a soccer team and renovate the Alamo Dome is a wise investment. This is after deciding that they didn’t want a new, crack-shot City Manager because she wanted too much in the way of compensation (she was asking $275k and a month of vacation). Way to go there guys, did I mention that the team will get to keep all profits from games, and all concession revenues? Yeah, that’s a great use of taxpayer funds.
